Finished the blue parrot socks this morning. The first one of these was completed on my cruise and enjoyed the ocean views. The second one has to be content with being a homebody.
I was worried that I would run out of yarn before finishing the second one. Because of that, it's a few rows shorter than the first one, but still fits just fine. I need to have more faith in how far the yarn actually goes. I ended up with about 4 grams leftover -- just enough to make a mini sock (which I haven't done yet).
With my big feet (size 11), I think it's time for me to learn to knit socks from the toe up. Then I won't have the anxiety attacks I get about running out of yarn.
Specs:
Yarn: Colinette Jitterbug in Blue Parrot (color 16)
Needles: U.S. size 2 Brittney DPNs
Pattern: My standard sock with a 2x2 garter stitch rib
I really like this yarn. It's soft and springy and knits up beautifully. These will be very toasty this winter.
Oh, if you haven't already, head over to Claudia's blog. She's getting ready to ride in a bike tour to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Over two days, she and a lot of other riders will cover 150 miles by bike. With the help of the knitting community, she's aiming to raise $20,000. Make a donation and you might even get a prize! It's a great cause and makes me tired just thinking about it, so go check it out. :)

Very pretty. I must get ahold of some of this yarn- sounds yummy.
Beautiful socks . . . love the colorwave, enjoyed reading your blog
Very nice coloured yarn! I have huge feet too and get frustrated at all the lovely patterns for "women's medium" which is about as big as my big toe LOL. Would you be willing to share your sock pattern - no. of stitches etc, with another fellow bigfoot?
Awsome socks! I'm totally in love with Colinette Jitterbug. Vibrant colors and nice, springy yarn.
