It's nice to have some time on my hands. I used part of it to finish the traveling socks for my friend Toni. I like how they came out.
Specs:
Yarn: Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Devon (color 407)
Needles: U.S. Size 1, Brittany DPNs
Pattern: Six-stitch pattern using the slipped-stitch rib from Charlene Schurch's Sensational Knitted Socks
Size: U.S. Woman's shoe size 6
The mini sock is on it's own little blocker that doubles as a keychain. I purchased several of these from The Bellweather. I love them! I'm now making a mini sock to match each pair of socks I make. If they're for me, I'll simply have multiple socks that I can switch onto my mini blocker at will. If they're for a gift, the recipient will receive both the mini blocker keychain and sock to match the ones they'll be wearing. And, if they're a knitter, they'll get the pattern for the mini sock (which comes with the mini blocker) as well. Does it get better than that??

This isn't the only knitting I've done this weekend. I'm almost finished with the mate to my sea sock and will post about that when I've completed it, hopefully tomorrow.
Oh, and for the record, I have done more than just knit this weekend. I've actually managed to clean out two bookshelves of stuff. Some will be sold at an upcoming garage sale and some got pitched out. I truly don't know why I keep some things! Feels good to purge now and then. There's still lots more to do, but at least I made a small dent. :)

Great socks! texture and colour.
Beautiful socks and a reason to buy the book the pattern is in.
What a great way to give a pair of socks! That's adorable.
Gorgeous. And a great job. You should be very proud of yourself for creating such a unique gift.
