Wrap it up!

What's a blogger to do during the holidays when she hasn't had time to take any pictures? Grab a holiday meme and punt! Saw this on the Purling Sprite and blithely stole absconded borrowed joined in on the fun. Feel free to do the same. :)

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?

Both, but gift bags are definitely easier.

2. Real tree or Artificial?

Artificial

3. When do you put up the tree?

IF I put it up, it could happen any time between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.

4. When do you take the tree down?

After January 6th. (Gotta wait for those Wise Men to arrive, dontcha know!)

5. Do you like eggnog?

No. Thank. Ewe!

6. Favorite gift received as a child?

A brand new bike to replace the hand-me-down that had literally fallen apart.

7. Hardest person to buy for?

My sister because we don't see each other much and our tastes are vastly different from each other.

8. Easiest person to buy for?

A friend I spend a lot of time with. :)

9. Do you have a nativity scene?

Yes and it's a very cute set of Lucy & Me bears with a creche I made out of popsicle sticks

10. Mail or email Christmas cards?

Neither

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?

The words "worst" and "gift" don't go together.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie?

A Christmas Story (You'll shoot your eye out, kid!)

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?

I don't really shop for Christmas. Any time I see something that seems like a good pick for someone, I buy it, but mostly I make things for Christmas gifts. Less is more when it's handmade.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?

You mean re-gifted? Uh, guilty, but they weren't necessarily received or re-giftedas Christmas gifts. :)

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?

As a kid, it was breakfast. Dad made THE BEST Christmas breakfasts with stuff like sourdough pancakes and oven omelets. Now? I like to get a big pecan Cinnabon to have with my coffee on Christmas morning.

16. Lights on the tree?

You bet! my tree has fiber optics.

17. Favorite Christmas song?

Toss up between Amy Grant's "A Christmas to Remember" and The Carpenters "Merry Christmas Darling." Oh, but then there's "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" and "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Silver Bells" and "I saw momma kissing Santa Claus" and-and-and-and ACK! Can't pick just one!

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home?

Home is definitely preferred.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's?

First of all, that's just grammatically incorrect. Reindeer is plural and even if it weren't, there would absolutely not be an apostrophe there! Good grief, people!

Okay, I apologize. Now, what was the question?

20. Angel on the tree top or a star?

Both. I have a bear angel who holds a star for the top of the tree. No, not a bare angel! Get your mind out of the gutter, people, this is Christmas we're talking about!

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?

One on Christmas eve, the rest on Christmas morning. Except when I celebrate Christmas with my friends which, for the sake of scheduling, may happen before or after the actual day designated as Christmas. Are we confused yet?

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?

People acting like maniacs as they try to rush from store to store seeking the lowest prices on stuff that the recipient mostly doesn't need and being rude and obnoxious in the process. It's not about the stuff, people! Fortunately, I don't go near the malls, so I mostly get irritated by the drivers myopically trying to get to or from the mall and nearly hitting me in the process.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color?

I have a bear theme with my Christmas decor. There are many favorites in the bunch and when I bring them out, they spark lots of memories of places I've visited, since I try and buy at least one whenever I travel.

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner?

Anything that strikes me as comfort food at the time. This would include anything shared with friends.

25. What do you want for Christmas this year?

Time. If someone can just bottle me up some time in which I am not required to do anything by anyone, that would be just lovely. I could nap or knit or watch movies or chat with friends or do all of that at the same time. Perfect. Beyond that, anything that is gifted to me with love and thoughtfulness is wonderful.

26. Who is most likely to blog about this?

Uh, blog about my blog entry? Why would anyone do that? Copy this meme to fill space (like I did)? Beats me. Anyone who reads here and is hard up for something to post, I suppose. After all, that's what I did!

27. Lights, blinking or always on?

Blinking, moving, trailing, chasing. It's all good. The fiber optics on my tree run different patterns of movement and color and I love it.

If you've read this far, you deserve a medal of some sort. I promise knitting content soon!

I love it! I'll be posting my answers later today.
I completely agree about getting time in a bottle. Wouldn't that be a great gift.
Also, the thing about the "reindeer's?" I corrected it, because I couldn't stand it, either! :)
