Actually, that's not entirely true. I've been working on writing the pattern for my Gull Wing socks. I now have a much higher appreciation of people who write patterns for a living! It takes a lot longer to write instructions someone else might possibly be able to follow than to just sit down and knit the darned socks.
Anyway, I wrote the pattern, then started a new pair following my own instructions. So far, so good. Sorry, no in progress picture today. I also enlisted the help of Katrina to test knit a pair for me. So far, she hasn't sent me any panicked emails, so I'm hoping it's going along okay!
I've also been swatching with the January Rockin' Sock Club yarn. The color is wonderful, but I'm just not enamoured of the pattern that came with it. To me, it cries out to be something resembling flames. I think I worked it out, but I was silly and frogged my swatch without taking a picture. Now I just need to get a bunch of work done (work that pays, that is) so I can take some time and start actually knitting the socks. They will be toe-up, which I haven't done very often, so I need to have some time to actually sit and concentrate to get them started. Besides, I have to pay attention so that I can write the pattern up as I go!
The Mr. Greenjeans sweater is languishing a bit because I got sidetracked with these sock projects. It's made a little bit of progress. I'm almost to where I can put the sleeve stitches on holders, which will be grand because there are a lot of stitches right now and it also means I'm close to finishing the plain stockinette stitch section and moving on to the more interesting cabled rib section.
Anyway, since I haven't posted for a while, I wanted to let you know I'm still here. Just busy and in an experimental knitting phase with no photographic evidence!
Stay tuned. . .

Your brain's working, and that's what counts. I know what you mean about patterns--sure is hard to write down what you did.
