Okay, first of all, there has been a bit of needlework happening here, but not much. I did make up a couple of crocheted mesh market bags that may become a class at the shop, but I'm not sure of details yet, so stay tuned if you're interested in a quick, fun, useful project.
The really big news has been in the works for a while. I knew a little bit about it, but just now saw the Yarn Harlot's post with the, I guess, official announcement.
Mark your calendars for August 6-9, 2009 and whatever you do, plan to be in Portland, Oregon at the Convention Center. The stars of the sock knitting community will be there for Sock Summit 2009! You'll be able to hob-knob with the likes of Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, Tina Newton, Cat Bordhi, Leslie Cumming, JCBriar, Debbi Stone, and Claire Scott. Those are the stars on the list so far and you never know who else might be added.
To keep up with the details, sign up for the mailing list on the official Sock Summit 2009 Web site.
I've already got it marked on my calendar. How about you?
