I consider myself to be very lucky to live where I do. No only do we have moderate weather, the choice of ocean or mountains within just over an hour by car, great coffee, and excellent micro brews and pubs, but we have an abundance of creative talent in the Northwest.
For knitting alone, the Portland metropolitan area has, quite literally, over a dozen yarn shops.
Couple all this with the fact that Judy (she of Judy's Magic Cast-on) and Sharon (Ms. StitchJones herself) are both members of my regular Wednesday evening knitting group and I'm pretty much in nirvana.
Today, Sharon's star rose a little higher as the local paper ran a story about her. The print version occupied the entire front page of the Forum section (our equivalent of a Living section, I suppose) and had several nice pictures of Sharon doing her dyeing thing. You can read the article here.
Congratulations, Sharon!! :)
In knitting news, which is much less important than the rising stars of my friends, I finished both fronts of Hey, Teach! Now I just have the back to do, then sew it together and do the bands. :)

Thank you, sweetie! You are a better knitter and designer than I can ever hope to be. I'm privileged to be part of your group!
