Tree bark WIP

This motley crew of sheep found its way to my house and, after a little cajoling, I convinced them to pose together. I think the guy with the scissors may have enjoyed Sweeney Todd a little too much. The guy in the middle is none to happy to be in a photo shoot. The egg-shaped sheep just looks a big dazed, and the Pez dispenser? Well, I think she's just sort of a space cadet in general.
The sock in progress they're posing with is being made from a glorious skein of sock yarn from Sharon at Stitch Jones, who happens to live about a mile from me. It's a color she calls "The Trees" and it's working up beautifully. The pattern is of my own devising, an attempt to create a bark-like look that I think is working well. The colors are striping and swirling in a very pleasing way and the yarn is very soft and has a nice spring to it. Stay tuned for the finished product!
Meanwhile, hope it's sunny and warm wherever you are. It's a mild, grey, rainy day here. Perfect for knitting, but not so great for hunting Easter eggs.

Whoa, the sock is looking great! I love the stitch pattern you chose and how the colors are knitting up.
Cute picture!
Oooh I love that green! It looks like it is knitting up pretty nice.
I think this pattern should be shared :-). I love it and I don't usually knit socks! Cute sheep, btw.
