Time flies!

Yeah, I may be the pilot, but sometimes it feels like I blink and the day is gone. I'm sure at least part of that is because a lot of my time is spent doing things I like to do and therefore time passes quickly. I just need more hours in a day so I can fit more things in!

Anyway, sorry for the long-time-no-blog-post thing.

Thanks for the nice comments about my dad. Yeah, he was a handsome devil, wasn't he? I remember as a teenager seeing one of my mom's old photo albums from when she was a young woman. There were lots of shots of her and her friends having fun at the lake or wherever. There were several pages of pictures showing her on the arm of a handsome, blond man.

"Mom? Who's this guy? He's handsome!" I inquired.
"Shh! Don't let your father see those pictures!" she said, blushing, and looking over her shoulder to see if dad was nearby.

I turned the page and suddenly the blond guy was gone and dad was standing proudly next to mom grinning at the camera with the cocky self-confidence of a handsome young man who is positive he's the apple of a young woman's eye. Mom never did tell me what happened to the other guy. All I know is that once she met dad, the blond didn't stand a chance.

Anyway. . .

On the knitting front, I've been working on the mate for the Tree Bark sock. The sample has remained at the shop and customers seem to really like it. I've been informed that I need to get the pattern in there soon or I'll be getting phone calls from some of the more impatient customers. This, my friends, is a good problem to have. Stay tuned! The test knit is almost done (thanks, Kathleen), and there are plans afoot! (Yeah, I know, bad pun.)

In the meantime, I did a test knit hat for Sharon of StitchJones in some of her beautiful kettle-dyed yarn. Lovely stuff and a nice pattern, too. And I'm still slogging along on Mr. Greenjeans' sleeves. I have to say that this one-piece sweater idea sounded really good until I got to this point. Now it's just unwieldy and I have to make myself work on it. I'm motivated, though, because the Sea Socks cruise is coming up quickly and the Yarn Harlot is going to be in town on the 22nd and these are both events where I'd love to wear my new sweater!

Sorry, no WIP pictures this week. Bad blogger!

There are lots of other things going on, one of them being the work that pays my bills, which is calling me now. (I mean that literally. As I was typing it, the phone rang and it was my employer!)

More later!

thanks again for knitting the hat for me--lots of Ravelers are adding the design to their faves! They're going to go wild for the Tree Bark pattern.
