First project of 2007

Inspired by Isela's production of multiple pairs of Fetching gloves, I visited my LYS Tuesday evening and bought some Debbie Bliss Aran Cashmerino in a nice burgandy/red. Although the pattern says you can complete a pair with one skein, I bought two because I have long fingers and made my pair a little longer than the pattern calls for. Next time, I think I'd make them even a bit longer. As these are now, they cover my knuckles nicely, but I'd prefer to have them come up closer to the middle of my fingers.

These work up really quickly and are absolutely lovely and toasty warm! I love them! I suspect that I will receive requests for some of these from friends when they see me wearing them.

I've made fingerless gloves (or handwarmers, if you will) a lot on my looms, but this is the first pair I've made with DPNs. I like both versions. The Fetching pair is just a lot more dainty than my usual pattern. :)

My LYS recently got some Namaste bags in stock. Since I got a nice tip at the party I worked on New Year's Eve, I decided to treat myself to one of the Everyday bags in brick red. It's awesome and it matches my new gloves very nicely. Bonus!

It's a lot bigger than any kind of purse I'd ever carry, but when I want to take a project (or two or three) along with me, it will be worth the trade-off in size to only carry one bag instead of several.

I also finished one clog. It's HUGE! But then, I have big feet and I'm counting on the felting process making it be just right. Now I need to go make the second one so I can see if that works out!
